Elements

Aluminum
Al is the symbol for this atom. Aluminum's atomic number is 13, and has an atomic mass of 26.98. It is the most available metal in the earth's crust. It is found in air, water, and soil. It is lightweight, non-magnetic, silver in color and a good conductor of heat and electricity. It is considered to harmless to the body.

Boron
Boron's symbol is a B. Boron has a atomic number of 5, and an atomic mass of 10.811. Boron is also used in rockets as a fuel for ignition. It has 6 neutrons. It has semiconductors like silicon, silicon carbide and germanium. Bulletproof vests and tank armor are made out of boron carbide. It is used in fuel, also.

Potassium
The atomic number of potassium is 19 and its atomic mass is 39.09. The symbol for it is P. It is compsed in the products soap, glass, gunpowder, and Fertilizers. It reacts violently with water, causing eruptions. It makes up about 2.4% of the weight of the Earth's crust. It controls the movement inside cells and helps to pump fluids inside the nerves and heart. We need about 3,500mg. to 4,700 mg. of Potassium per day.

Neon
The chemical sign for neon is Ne. It has a atomic number of 10 and an atomic mass of 20.17. Neon gas, first discovered in 1898, is named from the Greek word for "neos". Gases in Neon are argon, phosphor, xenon, helium and mercury are used. It exhibits a cubic crystal structure.Volcanic eruptions contain high amount of neon gases.

Neon

Neon is made up of very rare and antique gases. The rare gases used are neon, argon, helium, xenon, and krypton. Those are the most gases used in the "neon" signs. The two common ones in it are neon and argon. Argon's light is very weak due to its restistence. Neon light is bright and gives of a red glow. Argon is made up of everything like yellow, blue, green, white, and other shades. The tubes in argon are light and clear. Combonations of gases are mixed in the neon. Many neon tubes are coated in the inside with flurescent powders that create diffent colors in the light spectrum. The combonation of different gases combine and an even greater neon color shows up.

Nuclear Chemistry

10D1) Alpha, Beta, and gamma radiation are all totally different. Alpha radiation is radiation that is made up of Alpha particles. Each particle in it contains 2 protons and 2 neutrons and it has a 2+ charge. On the other hand, Beta radiation consists of fast moving electons called beta particles. Each particle contains a 1- charge. The third one, Gamma radiation has no mass and no charge that account for most of the energy loss in nuclear fission.
10D2)Fission is the joining of atoms of diffent elements, while fission is the splitting of atoms.
10D5) Nucleur energy is the energy that is created when the atoms are apart or split. The reactions change in an atom's nucleus. It is used typically in bombing and destruction. During the process mass gets converted into energy. It is used to split in nuclear fission. You can use it for enviromental saftey, clean water, and reduces the dependence of fossil fuels. For peaceful things you can use it to improve food availibility and quality and you can also you it for the treatment of cancer, or radiotheraphy. To conclude, nuclear energy has enormous benefits but, its up to humans to use it safely, and for peaceful purposes.

The Recycling Factory

Dear Mr.Smith,
There is something wrong in the dump truck. You need to seperate the four materials in it Alumimim, soda cans, steel cans, milk jugs, soda bottles. Here's a way to seperate them.To seperate the four materials, I would take the net and put the same materials in one net. I would use the convayor belt to put everything on it, so that the magnet can attract each material closer, exposing the material. You can use the magnet to caputre the steel. Then you would be left with alumimum soda cans. milk jigs, and soda bottles. Next, I will pour all of them in water and see which one will float. Milk jugs will float since the density is less thank water. Then I only have to seperate aluminum soda cans and soda bottles. Next, I would pour both of then in to the concentrated sugar water and see which one will float. Concetrad sugar water has a density of 1.5 g/cm3. So soda bottles will float because the density of it is less than the concentrated sugar water. So all I am left with in the net is the aluminum soda cans.

Why Chemistry the most important science

Everything you do involoves Chemistry.Chemistry involves chemical, compunds, matter, and compostion of objects. Without chemistry you wouldn't be able to cook or clean because in chemistry you use chemicals to cook and clean, also it explains how food changes throughout time. Units of measurements are related to chemistry. You use these measurements when cooking. For example, if you needed to put 1L of oil in your food, you can measure it in a graduated cylinder and put the exact amount in. One of the most important thing we use chemistry in is breathing.Plants make oxygen through photosynthesis using the carbon dioxide that we exhale.
